FSSAI Annual Return Filing (Form D-1)
Mandatory annual filing for FSSAI State and Central License holders. Declare your food production and sales data to avoid license suspension.
Overview
Holding an FSSAI State or Central License comes with the strict condition of filing an Annual Return. Every food manufacturer, importer, packer, and re-labeler must file Form D-1 through the FoSCoS portal on or before May 31st of every year, detailing the quantities of food products manufactured, handled, or imported during the previous financial year. Failure to file this return attracts a severe daily penalty, and continuous default will result in the immediate suspension or cancellation of the food license.

Key Advantages of Timely FSSAI Filing
Avoiding the daily late fee is the primary reason to file on time.
Avoid Rs. 100/Day Penalty
The FSSAI levies a strict late fee of Rs. 100 for every single day of delay beyond May 31st. This can quickly erode a small business's profits.
Prevent License Cancellation
Food Safety Officers use the annual return data to monitor active businesses. Non-filing flags your business as dormant or non-compliant, leading to show-cause notices.
Seamless License Renewal
You cannot legally renew your FSSAI license if there are pending annual returns or unpaid late fees on the portal.
