12A and 80G Combo Registration
Exempt your NGO’s income from tax (12A) and offer tax deductions to your donors (80G). Maximize your fundraising capabilities.
Overview
Merely registering an NGO (Trust, Society, or Section 8 Company) does not automatically exempt its income from tax. To gain tax-free status, the NGO must register under Section 12A of the Income Tax Act. Furthermore, to attract significant donations, the NGO must register under Section 80G. An 80G certificate allows individuals or corporations who donate to your NGO to claim a deduction (usually 50%) on their taxable income. Getting both registrations simultaneously is the most efficient way to legitimize your charity and scale your fundraising efforts.

Step 2: Filing Form 10A
We draft and file Form 10A online on the Income Tax portal for both 12A and 80G provisional registrations.
Step 3: Provisional Approval
The IT department issues a Provisional Registration (valid for 3 years) almost immediately upon automated verification.
Step 4: Final Registration (Post-Operations)
Within 6 months of commencing charitable activities, we assist you in filing Form 10AB to convert the provisional status into a Final Registration (valid for 5 years).

Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful answers to common regulatory inquiries.
Can I apply for 80G without having 12A?▼
No. 12A registration is a mandatory prerequisite for applying for 80G. We process both applications simultaneously to save time.
What is Provisional vs. Final Registration?▼
Under the new rules, newly formed NGOs are first given a Provisional Registration valid for 3 years. Once the NGO actually begins its charitable work on the ground, it must apply for Final Registration, which involves a detailed audit by the IT department.
Can commercial businesses get 12A/80G?▼
No. These exemptions are strictly restricted to non-profit entities engaged in charitable activities like education, medical relief, poverty alleviation, or environmental protection.
