Professional Tax Registration (PT)
Mandatory state-level tax registration for employers and professionals. Obtain your PTE and PTR certificates seamlessly.
Overview
Professional Tax is a direct tax levied by the state governments in India on all individuals who earn a living through any profession, trade, or employment. If you run a business, you are required to obtain two registrations: PTEC (Professional Tax Enrollment Certificate) to pay tax on behalf of the business entity itself, and PTRC (Professional Tax Registration Certificate) which authorizes you as an employer to deduct professional tax from your employees' salaries and remit it to the state government. Note: Professional Tax is not applicable in all states (e.g., Delhi, Haryana do not levy it, while Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu do).
